Don’t Touch That Phone!
I was visiting with my daughter and son-in-law yesterday. They shared a creative approach to having personal time not get usurped by our technology devices.
We’ve all seen this happen… You get together with family or friends. And everyone is on their phones posting social media updates, texting, etc. and essentially not paying attention to the people they are with. How can this situation be turned to take advantage of the relationship opportunities right before us?
They recommend that everyone put their mobile phone face down in the middle of the table. The first one who cannot “resist the urge” and grabs their phone for any reason gets the bill for the dinner. Nice.
Here’s to real social interaction face-to-face. As Crosby, Stills and Nash would say, “love the one you’re with”!
